Sprints & Hurdles

It was a busy weekend for the sprinters and hurdlers at the London Indoor Games: Saturday saw the hurdlers in action. Taya Benson started her indoor season in style running 2 PBs over the 60m hurdles, 9.05s in the first round then 9.00s in round 2. Tayla's best last year was 9.28s, showing she has wintered well so far. Reece Young continued his good form equalling his PB of 8.12s in the men's 60m hurdles.

Sunday saw the sprinters race over the 60m. The ladies were up first with Rachel Pithers running another PB. Clieo Stephenson, Shereen Charles and Jade Phillips all ran season bests as they prepare to compete at the UK Championships in 2 weeks. It was then the turn of the men. Jahde Williams and Luke Sargeant both ran PBs to finish the day on a high.

We also had Ryan Letts in action at the Bobsleigh World Junior Championships where the GB crew finished 7th. This race makes the end of a successful season for Ryan. Watch out for him on the Athletics track this year!
