What is a welfare officer?
The role of us welfare officers is to make sure the welfare of everyone at West London T&F is looked after whether that be children or adults, ensuring you all have a safe and positive experience training and competing with us.
We are primarily responsible for reporting and managing concerns around all forms of welfare. It's important to mention these issues don't have to be specific to athletics either, we are there to support everyone regardless of issues they are facing in athletics or their private life no matter how big or small, even if you just want a chat to a friendly face.
We have access to additional support where needed from England athletics and UKA.
Who can raise a concern with us?
Anyone! Whether you're an athlete or parent/guardian.
Important to note-
Sometimes you may not feel comfortable or confident to speak to your coach or even one of the welfare officers for whatever reason and that's absolutely fine.
All coaches at West London T&F have had basic safe guarding training. Whilst the officers are better trained to deal with it please don't let feeling uncomfortable or scared of having to talk to a potentially unfamiliar face get in the way. Raise concerns with anyone you feel comfortable with and they will be dealt with appropriately and swiftly.
