We are looking for coaches to work with athletes aged from 7 years old across our Junior groups and in local schools.

You will be required to teach young athletes the fundamentals of Athletics (running, jumping, and throwing) in a bespoke, youth friendly format. Successful candidates will be expected to introduce young athletes to the correct technical principles of sprinting, throwing, and jumping which underpin all athletic events, and directly transfer to other sports. Our Junior sessions are designed to develop physical competence and confidence by focusing on the basics of movement through a series of fun relays, games, and skills-based activities.

Previous experience of working with this age group is preferable but we are also keen to introduce new coaches into West London Track & Field. Applicants must posses an Athletics Coach or Assistant Coach qualification from England Athletics. This is a paid role for sessions in the afternoons, evenings and at weekends.

We are seeking to recruit up to three Intern Massage Therapists to work with our Therapy team and assist with the delivery of our programs. The successful applicants will work as part of an established therapy team and will also have the opportunity to learn from an interdisciplinary coaching and support team.

What you will gain from the role

•      Continued Professional Development (CPD) in the form of mentoring from Ciaran Keen, Laura Turner-Alleyne and Ellie Spain. Ciaran is an Osteopath with many years experience with elite level athletes. Laura and Ellie both ex-international athletes now Lead Coaches at WLTF

•      Hands-on experience working with club to elite level athletes

•      Knowledge and experience of working within interdisciplinary coaching and support team

•      Improved knowledge and portfolio for prospective employers

•      Refinement of hands on therapy skills

 Expectations and deliverables

As an intern massage therapist you will be expected to provide soft tissue support to our athletes, directed by Ciaran Keen. Occasional travel to competitions and warm weather training camps may be required; expenses will be paid for these trips.

The internships are voluntary positions and require a commitment of up to 8 hours per week through to the end of July 2020. Work will be based at Brunel University, Uxbridge. Working hours are flexible to suit both parties.

·      A genuine interest in Track & Feld; a professional approach to therapy provision, a desire to learn, and the ability to work independently

Interns who excel during their time with WLTF may be offered a part-time role following the completion of their internship.
